After doing some research, Meg found out that a girl hung herself out the window in the room she used to live in and as a result it was boarded up for a few years. Eventually, the school did a renovation on the building and the room was again available for students to live in. So, in fall of ’05, unsuspecting Meg ended up living in that very room. At first, she thought that her roommate, who was her friend from high school, was playing practical jokes on her. She said that throughout the semester her stuff kept getting rearranged and sometimes disappearing altogether. Once, she even found her flip flops in the microwave. But it wasn’t her roommate because weird things would constantly happen to her as well. Both girls said that the TV would turn on by itself at all hours of day and night and once both of their beds were moved about a foot away from the wall while they were gone. Both of them said that it felt like their blankets were being pulled off during the night and their lights would flicker all the time. At first, Meg decided that she was being silly and called in the electrician to look at the lights but he said that the lights were perfectly fine. Out of desperation, Meg and her roommate ended up calling a priest who, believe it or not, performed an exorcism that was supposed to get rid of the ghost. Things only got worse after that. Meg said that after a while she felt like she was constantly being watched. I imagine by then she was completely paranoid. So, she ended up finding one of the girls that used to live in the same room the year before. It turns out that very similar things used to happen to her as well. Both Meg and her roommate requested to be moved to a different room after the first semester and the room stayed abandoned till the end of the year.
I realize the fact that one of our freshman dorms is haunted is hard to believe. So, I encourage all the skeptics to find out for themselves and explore the eighth floor of the Hayes-Healy Hall.Picture Credits
